Abstract

This meta-analysis investigates the impact of arts education on cognitive development across various age groups and contexts. Drawing upon a comprehensive review of existing research literature, this study synthesizes findings from multiple studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of the effects of arts education on cognitive abilities such as critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and spatial reasoning. The meta-analysis examines the methodological rigor of included studies, explores potential moderators and mediators of the relationship between arts education and cognitive development, and identifies gaps and inconsistencies in the current body of research. The findings of this meta-analysis contribute to the growing body of evidence supporting the integration of arts education into formal educational curricula as a means of enhancing cognitive skills and promoting holistic development among learners. Additionally, implications for educators, policymakers, and researchers are discussed, highlighting the importance of continued investment in arts education initiatives to support cognitive growth and academic success.
