Abstract

"The Role of Language in Shaping Cultural Identity: A Sociolinguistic Perspective" explores the intricate relationship between language and cultural identity from a sociolinguistic standpoint. This paper delves into the ways in which language use, attitudes, and ideologies contribute to the construction and negotiation of cultural identities within diverse linguistic communities. sociolinguistic theory and its relevance to the study of language and identity. Drawing on concepts such as linguistic variation, language ideology, and language socialization, this section lays the groundwork for understanding how language functions as a symbolic resource for expressing and negotiating cultural identity.
