Abstract
The relationship between gender in media portrayals and their impact on societal standards is a topic of great importance in this age of ubiquitous visual storytelling and the explosion of media outlets. exploring the complex interplay of gender, culture, and media in an effort to decipher the myriad ways in which portrayals of gender in the media both reflect and influence prevailing social mores. Television, movies, commercials, social media, and print all make up what is essentially a huge spectrum of media that both reflects and shapes societal mores. There are a lot of moving parts here, and media portrayals of gender do more than just reflect reality; they actively shape and reinforce gender identities and expectations.
